The Chiltern Ladies’ Golf League Rules
1. Title The ‘Chiltern Ladies’ Golf League’.
2. Subscription £50 per club per annum payable on 1 January. (This may possibly be amended in the future)
3. Management Management to be by a Committee comprising one representative from each member club, plus a Minutes Secretary, a Fixtures/Results Secretary and a Treasurer. One of the club representatives will be elected as Chairlady for a calendar year. The Committee will meet at least twice a year.
4. Matches A fixtures meeting will be called in August each year to arrange fixtures for the coming year. If not made at the meeting, clubs may make their own arrangements for matches with each other. The Fixtures Secretary should be notified of the dates of these matches as soon as possible. Matches to be played between March and October each year. The games will be Greensomes with combined handicaps calculated from the Greensomes Chart and playing handicaps being three quarters of the difference between the opposing teams. There will be 6 players in each team (3 pairs) with no handicap limit. Each club to nominate a Captain who will choose the teams and notify the Results Secretary of match results, using the template provided. Rules of Golf to be as defined by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews. In the event that a member club is unable to fulfil its obligation of playing both home and away matches against another club, if applicable, the club hosting the defaulted match shall be recompensed by the away team for 50% of the catering costs. If matches cannot be played due to inclement weather, both clubs will try to replay the match during the season, notifying the Results Secretary of the revised date. If a rematch is not possible, both clubs will be awarded 2 points. Should a fixture not be played or completed for any reason other than weather, if both clubs agree, an alternative date can be arranged and the Results Secretary informed. If this is not possible, or if the offended club does not agree, six and one half points will be awarded to the offended club if it was the home club, or seven and one half points if it was the away club. In the case of a dispute, the matter will be discussed at the next full Committee meeting. Neither club involved to have a vote on the matter.
5. Points Points scoring for each match will be : 3 points for an overall home win 4 points for an away win 2 points for each club for a halved match 1 point for each winning pair ) Bonus Half a point for a halved game. ) points
Should there be a draw, the trophy will be shared.
6. Reporting Results to be reported by both sides to the Results Secretary by email using the template provided within 48 hours of the match.
7. Presentation The Chairlady to host and organise a ‘Ryder Cup’ Day and Presentation Evening before the end of October. Each club is responsible to buy a minimum of 10 tickets, subject to the capacity of the venue.
