The 2009 Season

Waterstock have started the season strongly with 4 straight wins in their first four games, including a narrow win over Bushey Hall. They are deservedly topping Division A by some margin.  Whilst the other teams have some games in hand, they are already playing catch up.

Division B is a somewhat tighter affair, with most teams having won each of their home games to date.   The most noteworthy result was an excellent draw by Wycombe Heights against Mill Green. Princes Risborough are the current leaders, with some heavy wins at home, but there is a long way to go!

The Winter Knockout 2008 / 9 - Chartridge Park win a nail biter:

An exciting final was held on Sunday 29th March between Chartridge Park and Aldwickbury.  The weather was kind to them, since the Sunday was calm when compared with the high winds of the previous couple of days.  It was a great match, played in tremondous spirit by both teams. 

At Aldwickbury, the tension was obvious, with some close games and an overall score of 1.5 points each for the 3 matches played. At Chartridge, there were more close games, but the home team prevailed by two matches to one. 

So the overall result was a win for Chartridge Park by 3.5 to 2.5 - congratulations to their team for an excellent campaign. They are worthy winners of the Steve Baker Trophy.

Paul Craven & Graham Griffiths - Won 2&1 against John Taylor+ Dave Russell
Luke Mitterhuber & John Murphy - Halved their game with Lee Edwards + Steve Tyne
Bill English & Stuart Kotchie - Lost 5&4 to John Brawn and Jason Landau
 
At Chartridge Park:
Neil Palfreeman & Stuart Hall - Won 4&3 against Steve Gibbs and James Miller
Andy Wiseall & Dave French - Won 4&3 against Tom Kenward and Steve Godby
Derek Griffiths & Andy Page - Lost 1 down to Jock Hunter and Tim Fox

Richings Park were crowned League Champions 2008 at the Awards Presentation lunch hosted by Aldwickbury Park on October 19th.
